How to Get Involved
Precinct Committeeman
Precinct Committeemen are the political Minutemen of today. The founders of the Republican Party wanted to ensure the grassroots directed and influenced party policies and were integral in choosing the party candidates. Precinct Committeemen are intimately involved in the legislative process as they operate as the conduit between candidates, elected officials, and the voters in their local precincts.
A Republican Precinct Committeeman represents the GOP voters of his or her precinct at the local Republican Party level. A Republican Precinct Committeeman is the face of the GOP within the precinct. In many cases, a Republican Precinct Committeeman might be the only party official a voter ever meets in person.
The Republican Precinct Committeeman’s core job helping to grow the GOP and working to deliver the maximum number of Republican votes from his or her precinct on Election Day. Precinct Committeemen comprise the core of grassroot efforts through phone calls and door knocking. A simple explanation of the role is what most people already do – talking to the neighbors.
By becoming a Republican Precinct Committeeman you can take a leadership role in advancing the Republican Platform principles of election integrity, lower taxes, smaller government, fiscal responsibility, individual freedom, strong national defense, and traditional family values.
